Freedom of Information Act Requests
To request access to Building Department records, you must submit a Freedom of Information Law form. New York State law provides up to 20 business days from acknowledgement to provide access to the requested records, but responses are typically quicker.
The Building Department is currently undergoing digitization of all property records and as such, not all records are stored on site or instantly retrievable. Due to the transition, your requested records may be available as paper copies, digitally via shared link or PDF, or a combination thereof.
